Dr. Danielle Sires is a clinical psychologist who practices in the Bay Area. Located in downtown San Francisco, Dr. Sires has over a decade of experience providing psychotherapy to adults and couples. She has a number of specializations, including an expertise in the treatment of substance use disorders and trauma. Her clinical and research interests focus on the complex impact of trauma and substance use on relationships and interpersonal functioning.

In addition to her work in private practice, Dr. Sires is a clinical psychologist with the City and County of San Francisco serving houseless and low income adults who struggle with a variety of psychological disorders such as PTSD, substance use disorders, cognitive disorders, and severe mental illness.

Education and Training

Dr. Sires received her doctorate degree in clinical psychology (Psy.D.) from Yeshiva University and her bachelor of science degree (B.S.) from UC San Diego. Her predoctoral internship was completed at the New York Harbor VA Medical Center. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship in Substance Abuse and Co-Occurring Disorders at the San Francisco VA Medical Center. 

Dr. Sires has a wide range of experience working with individuals, couples, and groups in diverse treatment settings with a broad scope of clinical populations. Her background includes work in community outpatient clinics, outpatient substance use treatment programs, VA  and city medical centers, and inpatient psychiatric units.
